A.L. Russell is an Australian indie author.

A voracious reader from a young age, A.L. found inspiration and escape in books, which eventually led her to pursuing her lifelong dream of becoming an author. But life got in the way of her dreams, and it wasn't until her children were starting to grow up and wanting her to read books to them, that she found that spark again. She redescovered her love for reading again with Beach Read by Emily Henry. From there, her love for romance books soared to new heights, and she quickly became insatiable - burning through book after book.

Then she found an old file on her laptop one night when she was helping her son with a school project. Later than night, armed with a glass of wine, A.L. sat down at her laptop and opened that file. As she was reading, she found herself adding bits and pieces to it. Fast forward six months, and she had a full-length novel in her hard drive.
 

But the driving force behind A.L. to refine that book came from her best friend. Said best friend sat with A.L. on many a night, reading the latest chapter, or a chapter rework, and the two quickly fell deeply in love with the character's A.L. had bought to life. They felt like real to both A.L. and her best friend.

Pushing A.L. to publish is still something her best friend gleefully boasts about - saying that she had magic on her hands, and a natural talent for crafting genuinly engaging stories. Her best friend said if she didn't publish, that she would, and find a way to credit A.L. for it.
Now, living on the Fraser Coast with her two children, her husband, their two cats, and their dog, A.L. spends most of her days dreaming up newer and more creative ways to break her readers hearts, before putting them back together.

Her works include the Perfectly Imperfect series, featuring titles such as Maybe Probably, After You, Beautifully Broken, After Midnight, and Inevitably Us. This series is incomplete, with the final book in the series due to be released in 2027.

A.L. also writes contemporary grey romance, and features morally grey MMCs and FMCs. Her upcoming release is entitled Even If It Hurts, and due to be released in late 2026.

She is also working on a Sports Romance series - the Houston Renegades series, which will be 5-6 books. There's also the small-town trilogy - the Whiskey Brother's series - about 3 brothers and their journey's to finding love.

A.L. never plans to stop writing and publishing. She loves it, and she especially loves that she can share a piece of her heart with the world, and help people escape reality for a little bit, with her worlds, and her characters.
